Setting up a solo repair station made me rethink how we learn

Honestly, everyone pushes the idea that you need shop coworkers to grow as a mechanic. Tbh, I bought into that for years. But after running my own repair gig alone, I see it another way. Ngl, I was worried about missing out on shared knowledge. Yet I pick up skills quicker by digging into online resources and trying things myself. I don't have to deal with shop drama or wait for a free moment to ask a thing. Sure, some folks thrive in groups, but I finish jobs faster without all the chat. For me, working solo just fits my style better.
