Update: I spent $80 on a torque wrench and thought it was a waste until last week
I was putting a carbon seatpost on a customer's bike and just went by feel like I always do. Tbh, I heard a tiny crack and knew I'd overdone it, costing me a $200 replacement part. Anyone else have a cheap mistake that finally made you get the right tool?

So was it just the sound that made you realize, or did the post actually fail later?

Honestly, it was both. The weird click sound happened, and then the app just froze. But like, is it that big of a deal? Stuff glitches all the time. You just close it and open it again. People are acting like the whole internet broke.
