Vent: Thought I'd save time by not removing the chain when cleaning the cassette

Spent 20 minutes picking grit out of my derailleur pulley wheels because I was too lazy to take the chain off. Turns out spraying degreaser with the chain on just blasts crap everywhere and it all settles in the pulleys. Anyone else learn this the messy way?

Man I did the exact same thing last month and ended up spending way more time cleaning pulleys than if I'd just pulled the chain off from the start. The degreaser really does splash into every little gap and leaves a gritty paste behind. My dumb shortcut turned into a full afternoon of picking at those tiny wheels with a pick tool. Next time I'm just taking the chain off, lesson learned the hard way.

I mean, is it really that serious though? A little paste on the jockey wheels isn't gonna wreck your ride, just wipe it off and move on.
