Took me 11 weeks to get my new apartment key situation sorted after moving to Denver
Moved into a new place in Denver back in March and the building manager handed me one key for the front door and said the mailbox key would come soon. Soon turned into 4 weeks, then 6. Every time I called the office they said it was on order, then it wasn't, then the guy who handles keys quit. I ended up going to the post office downtown twice with my lease just to pick up my own mail, which is a whole thing when you work till 6. Finally got the key last Tuesday after 11 weeks and 7 phone calls. I know it's just a key but it feels like the move is finally real now. Anyone else deal with a landlord dragging their feet on something this small?
Seven phone calls and a manager who quit mid-key order sounds like a sitcom plot they threw out for being too dumb. At least now you can check your mail without hauling your lease downtown like it's a passport. Small wins count, so enjoy finally being a real Denver resident with full key access.
