Update: picked the $900 room near my parents over the $650 one across town

Moved back to Columbus after 6 years away and had to choose between a cheap spot in Franklinton and a pricey garage loft 10 minutes from my folks. Went with the garage loft and my commute dropped to 8 minutes, which is the only reason I still have time to see them on weeknights. Anyone else pick the pricier place and actually feel okay about it?
