Visited my old college town and the coffee shop looks totally different now

Drove back to Boulder last weekend for a friend's wedding and stopped by the cafe where I used to camp out for 4 years. The owners sold it 2 years ago and it's got this whole minimalist thing going on, all white counters and no fliers on the wall. Back in 2019, that place was chaos with sticky tables but the best latte for $3. Now it's $6.50 and they don't even have the old chess set. Made me realize how much a space can change while you're not looking, kind of like catching up with an ex. Has anyone else gone back to a familiar spot and felt like you didn't belong there anymore?
