Debate: Was it the show or the setting that made it bingeable?

I always thought a good show was all about the story, but after binging The Night Of at a friend's cabin in the mountains last fall, I couldn't stop watching. The quiet isolation made every twist feel heavier, like we were stuck in that murder case with the main character. Do you think the place you watch a show changes how you see it, or is it just the writing?

Watched Severance in a dark basement alone at midnight and totally felt the creepy office vibes seeping into my bones.

The basement thing gets me. I remember reading about the original 2004 "Silent Hill" game test where they had players in a completely dark room with subwoofers under the floor. That physical vibration changes everything. Kevin's right about the office vibes too, but nobody talks about how modern HVAC systems in commercial buildings hum at frequencies that mess with your brain after hours. It's like the building itself is whispering.
