Hot take: That hyped true crime doc is way too stretched out

I binged the whole thing in one weekend and by hour 6 I realized they could've told the story in 2 episodes max. Anyone else feel like these docs are just milking it now?

Read somewhere that these streaming services actually hire separate teams just to find ways to pad out a story to hit a certain runtime. The one about the guy who faked his own disappearance could have been a single episode. They spent two whole episodes on cell phone tower pings alone. It's like watching someone stretch a single paragraph into a whole book.

Did you see that documentary about the deep sea diver where they spent an entire episode just showing him packing his gear? My friend binged it and said she almost threw her remote at the TV because it was literally 45 minutes of them showing him put fins and a flashlight into a bag. She said she could have just read the Wikipedia summary for that part and gotten the same info in two minutes.
