Just realized The Office has a deleted scene with a totally different ending for the rabies episode

Was scrolling through the Blu-ray extras from season 2 and found out they shot an alternate take where Michael actually listens to the vet and gives Angela real rabies info, not the pamphlet nonsense. It's like 4 minutes of extra footage I never knew existed. Did anyone else dig through the deleted scenes on their rewatch or am I just the weird one who does that?

Flip through the extras again and double check the timeline. That alternate ending you found is actually from the season 2 DVD set, but it was shot for the webisodes, not the actual episode. The vet scene with Michael listening happens in the deleted footage, sure, but it's not a different ending to the rabies story. It's more like a separate scene they cut early on. The real alternate ending has Dwight burning the office and Jim finding out. You might be mixing up two different deleted takes there.

Gotta push back on @the_logan here because I checked my season 2 DVDs again and the vet scene is definitely listed under deleted scenes for the rabies episode, not the webisodes. The timeline matches up too, the footage has the same lighting and set as the rest of that episode, and the actual alternate ending has Michael handing out real pamphlets with a sad music cue, not the Dwight fire thing you mentioned. Mixing that up with the webisode extra is an easy mistake, but the fire scene is from the season 3 blooper reel, not this one. Maybe your copy's menu glitched or something, but mine plays the full 4 minute alternate take right before the Jim and Pam commentary track.
