What if the stress isn't the main point but just the setting? The real story is about people trying to fix broken things, which feels pretty hopeful to me. Does that change how you see it?

What makes you feel it's a chore to watch? For me, the stress is the whole point. It shows the pressure of that world so well, the chaos in the kitchen and the family stuff. It's meant to make you feel that tightness in your chest.
