Question about binging shows in the wrong order

I just realized I've been watching the new season of 'Shining Vale' before the first one, which explains why I was so confused. A friend pointed out a major plot point I completely missed. Has anyone else done this with a show and ruined it for themselves?

Totally did that with a show on Netflix, can't even remember the name now. Started on what I thought was season one, but it was actually season three. The characters kept talking about some big wedding that never happened in my episodes. Felt like an idiot when I figured it out.

Ever check the episode list before you hit play? I learned the hard way after starting a show on the wrong season. Now I always scroll down to see if it says "season 1" first, saves a lot of confusion.

Yeah I used to just hit play and hope for the best, never really thought about it. Then I binged half a season of a show on Hulu thinking it was the beginning but the entire storyline made zero sense. @nina_johnson86 that wedding thing sounds exactly like what happened to me, they kept mentioning some character that I guess died in season two or something. Now I'm paranoid and check the episode list every single time, even for shows I've already seen.
