Tried The Sopranos for the first time at 47 and turned it off after 3 episodes

Everyone raves about it being the greatest show ever made, but I found the pacing too slow and the constant family drama just reminded me of my own long-haul dispatches back home, has anyone else bounced off a classic they were supposed to love?
