Warning: I keep seeing people call 'The Bear' a chill cooking show and it's driving me nuts

My friend told me to watch it for the food, but I was stressed out by the end of the first episode. The yelling, the ticket machine noise, the constant pressure... it's a great show, but it's about work stress, not relaxing food vibes. I think people see the kitchen setting and get the wrong idea. Has anyone else had to warn a friend about the tone before they hit play?

Right? My partner tried the same thing, said it was a cozy show about cooking. The panic attack in the walk-in freezer during the pilot was my first clue it wasn't exactly chill. I had to text three people after that episode like "heads up, this is high-anxiety TV.

Wait but that chaos is why I love it? It feels real, like being in a kitchen. The stress makes the quiet moments hit harder.

It's like how people call a stressful job "fast-paced" now. We're all just rebranding chaos as a vibe.
