Why does EVERYONE skip the intro music? My rewatch experiment backfired hard

I tried watching Succession WITHOUT skipping the theme song for a whole season. I figured it would build hype and get me in the mood. Instead, by episode 6 I was literally humming it in my sleep and my partner threatened to leave the room every time it started. Now I'm back to mashing the skip button and I feel like I'm missing some secret ritual that superfans love. Am I the weird one for skipping, or is the intro actually overrated?

Wait, did you actually LAST the whole season, or did you give up on the experiment partway through? Because if you made it all the way, that's a completely different story than if you caved around episode 3. The real question is whether the theme song actually ADDED something to the show for you, or if it was just annoying white noise by the end. Like, did you notice any details in the intro you never caught before, or was it just pure torture?
