That $200 propane forge I bought off Amazon warped after 4 uses

The firebrick lining cracked on the third heat and the steel shell bowed outward on the fourth, so now I'm out the money and half a day grinding rust off my anvil from the fallout has anyone else had a prebuilt forge fold on them that fast?

Bought one of those once and it sounded like a freight train when the welds let go.

Was it really that bad though? I've seen welds fail and it's usually more of a loud pop than a sustained roar like you're describing. Unless it was a total structural collapse, @rileyellis might be picturing something way more dramatic than what actually went down.

Freight train when the welds let go" - man, that's terrifying. I can only imagine the sound and the mess that must have followed. Were you standing nearby when it happened? I'm picturing sparks flying everywhere and that horrible screeching metal noise. Did anything get damaged besides the thing itself? That's the kind of story that makes me double check every weld I see from now on.
