Vent: My entire batch of Damascus billets delaminated after a power outage in Boise
The forge dropped below critical temp for about 15 minutes while I was welding up a stack, and I didn't catch it until I went to draw them out. Has anyone else had a project fail because of a sudden utility issue?

That's not how Damascus delamination works, it's a welding temperature issue.

Just looked up delamination and realized I've been using the word wrong for years, maybe that's why my last attempt at a pattern weld looked like a stack of crackers. I mean, my forge might also just be a fancy hair dryer, so temperature checks out.

My old forge in Texas welded fine at way lower temps than the books said.
