A customer told me my hot takes sounded like I was reading a wiki page so I changed how I argue
I used to pile on 5 stats and 3 studies in every post here, then a guy named Daryl replied "cool, but which part did you actually live through?" and it hit me. Now I lead with one thing that happened to me and one number, like the $22 I blew on a parking ticket because I ignored a sign I'd walked past 40 times. Do you lead with stories or stats when you're trying to win an argument on here?
My buddy tried the stats thing on his brother in law about some dumb grill argument and got hit with "ok but have you ever actually cooked on one." Story plus one number seems to land better for sure.
