The Tuesday my three kids all slept through the night for once

I kid you not, my 2 year old woke up crying at 1 AM, my 5 year old puked at 3 AM, and my 7 year old had a nightmare at 5 AM. That Tuesday was shot but I got a full 20 minutes of quiet coffee before the chaos restarted, which felt like winning the lottery. It got me thinking, why do we measure bad days by the big disasters and good days by tiny quiet pockets? Anyone else have a random weekday that somehow beat a whole vacation?

Big disasters are what we remember, that's the thing. Sure, your kids slept through the night once and you got twenty whole minutes of peace, but that doesn't change the fact you were up every two hours after midnight. Vacations are SUPPOSED to be good, so when they go sideways, that stands out. But a random Tuesday is supposed to be nothing, so a tiny break feels like a win. That's just called lowering your bar. Next week when they all wake up again, that twenty minutes won't mean squat.
