The uncle who swore by duct tape on brakes, I should have listened sooner
Tbh, my uncle told me last summer that a $6 roll of duct tape fixes a squeaky car door better than any $40 lubricant spray. I laughed it off and bought the fancy stuff, then spent 2 weeks listening to that noise on every turn near my apartment in Austin. Finally tried his trick last Tuesday, folded a strip over the latch, and it's been silent for 5 days straight. Has anyone else got a relative whose cheap hack actually beat the store-bought fix, or is my uncle just some kind of tape wizard?

My brake pads need replacing every 6 months, tape just hides the real problem.
