A guy at my local shop told me I was shuffling wrong for 3 years

I always pile shuffled my deck before games. One day a guy at Dragon's Den Games in Portland watched me do it and said I was killing my sleeves. He showed me how to do a proper mash shuffle without bending the cards. Now I use that method every time before a match. My sleeves last months longer now. Has anyone else had a habit someone called out that ended up saving you money?

It's funny how one little tip like that can save you so much money in the long run, right? I've noticed the same thing with a lot of everyday stuff, like how people load dishwashers totally wrong and end up breaking plates or having to rewash everything. My buddy showed me the right way to stack the racks, and now I don't have to replace glasses every year from chips and cracks. It's just one of those things where a tiny fix makes a huge difference, and you wonder why nobody told you sooner.

Wait, you're supposed to stack plates a certain way? I just throw them in.
