A stranger at my FLGS sold me on co-op games, now I'm hooked
I was always a cutthroat competitive player, thought co-op was boring, but this guy at the Labyrinth in Portland showed me a 5-minute round of Pandemic and explained how the tension is shared, not directed, and it just clicked. Has anyone else gotten converted to a style you swore you hated, or am I the only one who needed a random demo table?

That demo table at Labyrinth is dangerous, ha. Always thought co-op was just group hugging until one player tells everyone what to do, but playing Spirit Island changed that for me. The shared stress of figuring out the board together, when nobody has the full answer, is its own kind of fun. Now I can't even get a group for competitive games without someone wanting to 'work together' instead. It's weird how a good pitch flips a switch like that. That guy knew exactly what to show you.
