Changed my mind about solo board gaming after a long weekend

I always figured playing board games alone was missing the point. Then I got stuck inside during a storm last weekend and finally opened my copy of 'Wingspan' to try the solo mode. After three games against the automa deck, I was totally hooked. The challenge felt real, and it was a great way to learn the rules inside out. Anyone have other solo games that feel this good?

Saw a thread on BGG about solo gaming being a legit hobby now. The 'Spirit Island' solo mode is supposed to be really tight, almost like a puzzle.

Spirit Island solo mode" is the only way I've ever played it. It's always been a solo game to me.

Wait, didn't that BGG thread also talk about how solo modes are getting way better now? I read a blog post that said older games just tacked on a solo bot, but new stuff like Spirit Island is built for it from the ground up. Makes the whole puzzle feel way more intentional. Honestly, it's cool to see the hobby grow to include more ways to play.
