Fell for a $120 Kickstarter board game that was a total letdown

I backed this game called "Chrono Cartographers" back in March, all hyped up by the demo video and the slick campaign page. It finally showed up last week, and the components feel cheap, the rulebook is a mess, and we tried twice to get through a game but gave up both times because nothing made sense. I get that Kickstarter is a gamble, but this one stung because the updates promised so much polish. Has anyone else had a crowdfunded game that looked amazing online but flopped hard on the table?

Ha! Sounds like you paid $120 for a very fancy paperweight. I've learned the hard way that a slick Kickstarter page is basically a movie trailer, and the actual game is the director's cut nobody asked for. At least you can use the box to prop up a wobbly table, so it's not a total loss.
