I just hit 500 logged plays of Ticket to Ride and it made me think.
I started tracking my games about five years ago, and seeing that number really hit home how much time I've spent on this one box. It's not even my favorite game, but it's the one my group in Cincinnati always falls back on. Does anyone else have a game they play way more than they'd ever admit to loving?

Honestly, tracking plays was a real eye-opener for me too... logged a ton of Catan that way. It's the default when the family visits, you know? The numbers get kind of silly after a while, but it shows what actually hits the table. That reliable, easy-to-teach box has a weird pull, even over games you like more.

Totally get that. My play log is just Carcassonne over and over with my partner. We have all these newer games but that one just always gets picked.

It's funny how that works. You buy all these new games, but the old ones just keep coming back. Like @the_lucas with Carcassonne, my shelf has a dozen games I'm "excited" to play. Yet every week, it's the same worn out Ticket to Ride box. The comfort of a known rulebook beats the stress of learning something new, every single time.
