My game group house rule about phones is why we actually finish games now
Three guys in my Tuesday night group at the shop in Beaverton kept checking texts every single turn, and our games of Brass: Birmingham were taking almost 4 hours because of it. Two weeks ago I brought a small shoe box, we all drop our phones in at setup, and the same game now wraps in 2 hours flat. People call phone bans rude or controlling, but nobody at that table has asked for their phone back once. Try the box rule for 3 sessions and see if your group fights you on it like mine did.
