Our group's 4 hour Twilight Imperium game got ruined by a rule I always skipped
Last Saturday we had a full table of six ready to go in Columbus, and I found out halfway through round 3 that I'd been playing the political phase wrong for about 2 years. Everyone wanted to just keep going but I insisted on fixing it, which made the last two hours feel like we were all just waiting to see who got hurt worst. Has anyone else had to stop a long game to fix a core mechanic and watch the fun drain out of the room?

Was it the Agenda phase where you vote on laws, or the whole speaker order and rider mechanics that got fluxed up? Because that's the kind of thing that turns a chill evening into a spreadsheet audit real quick.
