Question about the Saturday my game group pulled off 4 heavy euros in one sitting
My usual crew met up at Brian's place in Columbus two Saturdays ago with a plan to just knock out one big game and call it a night. Instead we somehow got through all of Ark Nova, Brass Birmingham, Terraforming Mars, and a quick round of Cascadia before midnight, which never happens for us. The trick was Brian set up a snack table in the other room so nobody had to stop playing to eat, and we agreed on a hard 20 minute rule for anyone stuck on their turn. I tracked it on my phone out of curiosity and our average turn time dropped from almost 4 minutes down to about 90 seconds by the second game. Normally someone burns out by game three and we end up on phone screens, but this time everyone stayed locked in. Now I'm wondering if the snack table was the real hero here or if the turn timer did the heavy lifting. Does your group run any kind of turn clock, or does that just make people feel rushed?
