That pandemic-era dice set finally betrayed me last night
I grabbed my old acrylic dice from the 2020 lockdown haul because my usual metal set fell behind the couch during a Clank! session. Rolled them for a D&D one-shot with my Tuesday crew and the d20 kept landing on 3 or 17, no middle ground, which felt cursed. Looked closer and the paint on the numbers had chipped so bad I couldn't tell a 6 from a 9 on the d12. Had to borrow a set from my friend Marco who lives over in Austin, and we lost 45 minutes arguing which rolls counted. Anyone else have a favorite pair of dice that just gave up on them mid-session, or do you always carry a backup bag now?

Man, that's rough. I had a set of dice from a convention back in 2015 that one day just started rolling the same number over and over, like they had a grudge against the rest of the table. Turns out the plastic had warped from sitting in my car during a summer heatwave, so they weren't even a cube anymore. I still keep them in a pouch for nostalgia, but I never touch them for actual games.
