Tried tracking my win rate in 40 games of Wingspan and the numbers did not say what I hoped
So I started logging every game of Wingspan my group plays, all 40 sessions since March, and I wrote down who won and what their final score was. I figured the person who got the most birds would win most of the time, but it turns out the winner had the fewest birds in 11 of those games. Eggs and tucked cards carried way more weight than I thought, and the bonus cards decided at least a third of the matches. Now half my group says that proves the game is just luck with extra steps, and the other half says it proves we have all been playing wrong this whole time. I honestly cannot tell if the data shows skill or if 40 games is just too small a sample to mean anything. What do you all track when you want to know if a game is actually decided by skill? And has anyone else done this and gotten a result that made them like the game less?
