Had a conversation with an old foreman that made me rethink how I prep edges

I was bitching about a bevel prep that took me forever last week, and this retired foreman I know just said "you're fighting the grinder, not using it." He watched me for five minutes and showed me how I was holding the angle wrong and pushing too hard. Now I'm getting cleaner bevels in half the time. Anybody else had some old timer drop a tip that totally changed how you do something basic?

On the bevel... way too much, like I was trying to force it through.
