Hit 100 completed boiler inspections last Tuesday without even noticing

I was flipping through my logbook at the shop in Gary and realized I ticked over 100 inspections since I started working solo last March. That number surprised me because I never sat down to count them before. Each one took anywhere from 2 to 6 hours depending on the setup and access. It made me think about all the different plants and water tube systems I've crawled through. Has anyone else ever added up their inspection count and got caught off guard by how fast it adds up?

Ha, @the_charles you're basically living the "blink and you'll miss it" life of a safety guy. Ngl, hitting 100 inspections is wild, but I swear half those Saturdays just evaporate into steam and rust dust. I bet you've got a sixth sense for finding a water tube leak from three floors away by now. Tbh, my logbook would probably just be a bunch of coffee stains and scribbled notes about which plant had the worst ladder access. But hey, at least your calendar is full of memories... or boiler rooms, same thing really.

Counted up my quarterly safety audits at the end of last year and was shocked to see I'd done 35 without even planning it... seems like once you get into the rhythm of it, the numbers just pile up without you noticing. I remember looking at my calendar and realizing half my Saturdays had vanished into boiler rooms and crawl spaces without me even thinking about it.

Question whether those Saturdays really vanished or if you just stopped caring to track them properly. 35 audits sounds like a lot, but if they're quarterly that's barely over eight per quarter which isn't wild at all. Maybe just need a better calendar system rather than acting like your weekends got stolen.
