Hydrostatic test rig blew a fitting on a Friday afternoon

Was testing a 20-foot boiler drum and a compression fitting let go at 150 psi. Had to drain the whole setup and swap it with a union fitting before we could restart.

You ever get that sinking feeling when you hear the water start dumping out? Had a similar thing happen on a chiller line, except it was 200 psi and a brass fitting just split clean in half. Soaked the whole floor, lost a Friday afternoon and half the weekend waiting for parts. At least yours was just a fitting swap, that union probably fixed it fast. Still though, nothing ruins a Friday like a wet mess and a long drain.
