Rant: My foreman insisted we use a 3/8-inch rod for that patch job on the old Babcock & Wilcox boiler in Toledo

He was dead wrong, the expansion rates were off and we had to redo the whole section after a month. Anyone else had a boss give them bad filler metal advice that cost time?

What grade of rod did he push for on that Babcock boiler? Sometimes the wrong spec sheet gets passed around and nobody checks it.

Yeah, and like nelson.wesley said, if the wrong spec sheet got used, who even signed off on the final check? That's how you end up with a real mess on your hands.

Remember my buddy's crew who built a whole section with the wrong alloy specs?
