The time a stray cat decided our boiler room was the perfect spot for a litter

Last Tuesday at the old paper mill in Kalamazoo, we found a momma cat and four kittens tucked behind the feedwater heater. The real kicker was trying to weld a patch on the economizer while keeping three apprentices from turning into full-time cat sitters. Has anyone else had wildlife completely take over a job site?

We had a family of raccoons living in the attic of a half built custom home. The real problem was they chewed through a whole bundle of brand new Romex wiring. The homeowner refused to let us remove them until animal control came, which took a week. Project was totally stalled, cost thousands in extra labor and materials.

Man, that's brutal. I once had a squirrel chew through my outdoor lights and thought that was bad. Your story makes my little pest problem look like a walk in the park.

Oh man, @benc53, you're making me feel better about my own mess. I had a mouse build a nest in my car's air filter last fall out of, I swear, fast food napkins and my own shredded insurance papers. The smell when I turned on the heat was a special kind of punishment.
