Chat with my mom about old book glue made me rethink everything
She was telling me how my grandpa used wheat paste in the 1950s for his amateur bindings, and I realized I've been overthinking modern adhesives for years. Has anyone else tried a simple PVA mix instead of those expensive archival glues?

Spent 80 bucks on "archival" glue last week and my grandpa's wheat paste books are still holding up better than mine. Guess I'm the sucker in this equation.

80 bucks for glue that loses to grandpa's flour and water. Ouch.
