Chose between PVA and hide glue on a 1920s family bible and I picked wrong
Went with PVA because it was 11pm and I was tired, and now the spine is stiff as a board two months later. Anyone got a trick to undo this without wrecking the signatures?

Same thing happened to my grandpa's old hymnal, went PVA at midnight and the cover curled up like a potato chip within weeks. Tried a warm damp towel held on the spine to soften it and it helped a little, but I'm following this thread to see if someone has a real fix.
