My thread injector jammed so bad I had to take it apart on the kitchen table

My old Singer decided to eat a whole spool of thread last Tuesday in the middle of a rush job for a client. The bobbin case was locked up tight and I spent three hours pulling bits of thread out with tweezers. I finally got it running again but now the tension is all wonky and I'm scared to touch it again. Has anyone else had a tension issue after fixing a major jam like this?

Tension all wonky" after a jam usually means you bent the tension disc spring putting the bobbin case back in.

Wait you're saying people actually bend those springs just by putting the bobbin case back wrong? I've been sewing for years and never knew that was a thing you could mess up so easily. That little spring disc is way more delicate than I realized. Guess I need to be way more careful next time I take the bobbin out.
