That $60 bone folder I got was money way better spent than the $10 plastic one
Picked up a cheap plastic bone folder when I started binding and it snapped clean in half on a tight fold after about 3 months. Finally grabbed a proper polished cow bone one from a craft shop for $60 and it's been solid for over a year now. Anyone else have a specific tool they wish they'd upgraded sooner?

My cheap plastic folder didn't snap clean, it just kind of bent and then refused to ever go straight again. Got a wooden one from a garage sale for two bucks and that thing has outlasted three of my own hobbies. Funny how we'll spend $60 on coffee in a month but balk at a tool that lasts forever. My husband still teases me about the six dollar screwdriver I cried over losing. Maybe we all just need to accept we're the problem, not the tools.

Used to grab the cheapest tool I could find for everything, figured it was all the same. @jordan_young you're spot on, those plastic rulers shatter if you look at them wrong, same as cheap folders. That $60 bone folder sounds like a solid investment now that I'm seeing how fast the cheap stuff wears out.
