Took a workshop with a master binder in Portland and now I disagree with the whole "never use PVA on leather" rule

That old rule came from when PVA was junk that peeled off after a year. Modern PVA formulas are way better and some binders mix it with paste for the best of both worlds. Maybe the real lesson is that rules need updating when the materials change.

Read somewhere that modern PVA actually bonds better with leather than old stuff.
