Dug up a VHS of 'The Wizard of Oz' where Dorothy says 'there's no place like home' in a heavy Brooklyn accent

I hit up a thrift store in Cleveland last weekend and found this tape from some tiny distributor. The dubbing is so bad it sounds like she's complaining about rent - has anyone else stumbled on a regional dub that made the movie completely different?

Oh wow, that is a fantastic find. I had a similar experience years back with a VHS copy of "The Sound of Music" I picked up at a garage sale in New Jersey. The dubbing was so off, Maria sounded like she was from Bayonne and the von Trapp kids had thick Philadelphia accents. It completely changed the feel of the movie, turned this grand musical into a very local family drama. Really makes you appreciate how much the voice acting shapes the whole tone of a film.
