Found a VHS of a Chinese bootleg of The Matrix where Neo is actually a pizza delivery guy

Found this at a flea market in Portland for $3. The whole movie is dubbed over in Mandarin but the subtitles are in Spanish. Neo delivers pizzas and Morpheus is his angry boss. The red pill/blue pill scene is a choice between pepperoni and pineapple. I watched 20 minutes and I'm genuinely not sure if this was some local TV show or a real bootleg. Anyone else ever come across something so off the rails it felt like a fever dream?

The part about "the red pill/blue pill scene is a choice between pepperoni and pineapple" got me good. I used to think bootlegs were just crappy copies you bought because you couldn't find the real thing, but this totally changed my mind. Like, someone actually sat down and re-dubbed the whole movie with a pizza plot. I saw a similar one once of The Terminator where Arnold was a used car salesman. It's honestly kind of impressive how much work went into making it this weird instead of just a straight rip. I'd probably buy it for the sheer confusion value alone.

Right? The amount of effort is what gets me too. I stumbled across one of those for "The Princess Bride" where they re-dubbed it to be about a guy trying to get his car out of the shop. The whole "as you wish" bit was just him asking for his keys, it was hilarious. You can tell someone sat there for hours recording lines and syncing them up just for the joke. It's way more creative than just a bad quality rip off a camcorder. Would totally buy one just to see how far they took the bit.
