Picked up a VHS of The Empire Strikes Back at a flea market last Sunday and the whole second half is dubbed in Cantonese

The subtitles are just standard English but the voice actors sound like they're reading a grocery list, anyone else ever find a dub that's so bad it makes the movie better or is this just me?

A whole half of the movie is dubbed in Cantonese? That's wild, like finding a cursed tape from a parallel universe. I've seen some lazy dubs where the lip sync is way off, but nothing that switches languages mid-film like that. How did you not lose your mind watching that?
