Spent $12 on a VHS of a movie that doesn't exist

Found a tape at a thrift store in Spokane labeled "The Last Drive-In" with no studio info. Popped it in and it's 45 minutes of static with a single shot of a dude in a pig mask at the end. Anybody else ever find a tape that's clearly a hoax or lost media?

You said "45 minutes of static with a single shot of a dude in a pig mask at the end" and I gotta push back a little because that actually sounds way too deliberate to be a hoax. Like static with one creepy shot at the end is exactly the kind of thing someone would make as a student film or an art project, maybe even something from a local filmmaker who just wanted to mess with people. Hoaxes are usually more elaborate, with fake credits or made-up backstories, you know? I mean if someone just threw that together to trick you they probably would have slapped a fake logo or a copyright date on it. Static and a pig mask feels more like someone's weird short film that got donated with a generic label. Plus thrift stores in Spokane get all sorts of random stuff from people cleaning out garages, could be anything. Not saying it's not a hoax but I think it's more likely just lost oddity than a prank.

Thrift stores don't take VCR tapes anymore, that was probably a DVD-R with a printed label.
