My boss made us log every single break over 4 minutes, and now nobody takes breaks at all
Back in March our plant manager in Akron put a sign-in sheet by the time clock for any break over 4 minutes, and he claimed it was about "accountability." Now the crew just stands at their stations eating a sandwich with one hand because nobody wants their name on that sheet. I clocked 11 hours straight on Tuesday without sitting down once, and my back is still mad at me. So here is my question: was the sheet really the problem, or was the boss wrong for not trusting us in the first place? Has anyone else had a rule that backfired this bad?
