Found a wild violet patch in my backyard after 3 years of neglect
Last week I noticed this small patch of purple flowers near the fence, and I realized it's wild violets that popped up on their own. I used to fight them with weed killer back in 2021, but after my surgery last summer I just let the yard go. The soil is finally healthy enough that they came back stronger than before. Has anyone else had plants return after you stopped messing with things?

Oh dude, is it weirdly satisfying when things just come back on their own like that? I'm glad you finally got to see them again after all that weed killer stuff.

You know what, Sam, my front yard was bare dirt for almost two full years after that neighbor's kid sprayed everything. 37 days after the last rain, I spotted the first little green shoot poking through, and I nearly cried. It's like the ground has its own clock and memory, just waiting for the right moment to wake back up. There's something real comforting about knowing a plant can survive spite and bad decisions.
