Heads up about the new plant sale at the Denver Botanical Gardens

I went there yesterday and saw a bunch of plants labeled wrong, like a Monstera being sold as a Philodendron. Has anyone else had this happen at a big nursery?

My friend bought a "string of pearls" from a huge garden center last month that turned out to be a string of bananas. She only figured it out when it started growing totally different than expected. It's pretty frustrating, especially for new plant people who are trusting the labels to learn. I guess these big sales move so much stock that things get mixed up in the rush. She had to go back and swap it, which was a whole hassle. Makes you want to double-check everything before you buy.

That big garden center probably sells a thousand plants a day. Mistakes happen. Honestly, a string of bananas is still a cool plant. The hassle of going back seems like more trouble than it's worth. Just learn to care for what you got.

Is it really that big of a deal? It's a plant, not a car part. They both need similar light and water anyway. Getting worked up over a label mix-up seems like a waste of energy. Most people would just keep it and move on.
