Last summer my Monstera leaves started yellowing. Tried everything. Then I checked the soil pH.
Three months of trial and error. Moved it to different windows. Changed watering schedule. Nothing worked. Finally bought a $12 soil pH meter. Turns out my tap water was way too alkaline at 8.2. Switched to filtered water and added a dash of vinegar. Two weeks later new leaves were dark green again. Anyone else deal with pH issues from tap water?

Yeah pH swings will mess with nutrient uptake bad.

@campbell.tara is right about pH swings being rough on uptake, but what nobody mentions is that your water source matters just as much. Hard tap water can lock out phosphorus regardless of how stable your pH stays. Check your base ppm before adjusting anything else.
