My monstera put out 3 new leaves in one week, then my cat knocked the whole pot off the shelf at 2am

I spent 20 minutes at 2am on my hands and knees in the kitchen picking perlite out of the rug while the cat just sat there watching me like I was the one who messed up, so now I want to know if anyone else has a plant shelf situation that survived a pet attack or if I should just give up and hang everything from the ceiling.
