Picked a Hoya over a Monstera for my living room and now I am doubting my choice

Last month I went to the local nursery looking for a big statement plant for my north facing living room. I had my heart set on a Monstera deliciosa, they had a beautiful one for $45. But then I saw a Hoya pubicalyx with these long vines trailing down, also $45. I stood there for 15 minutes trying to decide. I went with the Hoya because I read they handle lower light better. Now a month later, the Hoya is fine but it has not grown an inch and I keep looking at pictures of Monsteras online. Has anyone else regretted picking a slower growing plant over a faster one?

You ever look at a Hoya and wonder what you were thinking?

Oh man, you fell for the "this plant will thrive in low light" promise too? (I swear that's the plant equivalent of "this diet lets you eat whatever you want.") I've got a Hoya that's literally been in the same 6-inch pot for three years and it looks exactly the same as the day I bought it. Meanwhile my friend's Monstera grew like three feet in six months and now it's taking over her entire apartment.
