Serious question: Are we overwatering or underwatering monstera plants?
I left my monstera alone for 3 weeks and it threw out two new leaves. But when I water it weekly it gets yellow spots. My buddy over in Seattle waters his every 5 days and his looks perfect. So which side is right for these things?

Man, it's wild how different setups can change everything. What's your humidity like in that room, and are you checking the soil with your finger before you water? Because that "every 5 days" thing might work fine in Seattle's damp air but you could be drowning yours in a dry house.

Ugh yes, this is such a common mistake! I've burned myself so many times thinking my soil felt dry on top but it was still soggy an inch down. Get a moisture meter dude, they're like 10 bucks and save so many plants. Honestly I'd rather underwater and have my plant look a little sad than overwater and get root rot, cause that's way harder to fix. Plus if you're in a dry house you can always mist the leaves or put a pebble tray under the pot to bump up humidity.
